  Jason Cheung is a student with a profound passion for aerospace. During his time at Pacific Academy, he established the Rocketry Club. This is the starting point of our dreams, where our journey to explore the vast skies and stars begins. Now, Jason has been admitted to the University of Southern California to continue exploring the vast cosmos. Jason will forever be regarded as an idol by the club members, and we will follow in his footsteps as we move forward! 

 During the COVID-19 pandemic, the club's activities came to a standstill. Even after the pandemic ended, the club's activities were challenging to resume, primarily because Jason and other founding members entered their extremely busy senior year and started the college application process. However, even in such circumstances, Jason and the other founding members did not give up on their dreams of aerospace. They continued to immerse themselves in learning and practical experiences in related fields. 

 After Mickey joined in Pacific Academy in 2022, he, who also had a tremendous passion for aerospace, met Jason, who was about to graduate. With the assistance of Jason and the founding members, Mickey, along with the second-generation members, dedicated themselves to rebuilding the club. After extensive efforts, finally, there came a glimmer of hope. 

 Pacific Academy Rocketry Club was officially established on March 19, 2023. Our first weekly meeting took place in Professor Wang's studio, marking the beginning of our journey. A passionate and adventurous team came together to pursue dreams of exploring the sky and cosmos. The birth of this club, on that significant day in March, was the first step on our path to the stars, again. 

October 14th 2023, the Rocketry Club conducted the certification testing for the National Association of Rocketry High Power Launch Level 1 Certification at the ROC Launch Site in Lucerne Valley. All the participating members showed remarkable performance and are truly outstanding.

At this moment, by following the tests, the club has seven members who have obtained the NAR Level 1 certification. They are Mickey Wen, Ethan Sheng, Tony Guo, Jerry Zhang, Jayden Zhang, Mark Zhai, and Celia Wang. Also, the Rocketry Club is actively working towards becoming a member unit of the NAR.

In May 2024, the club organized a team to participate in the Rockets For Schools 2024 competition. The team was led by Mickey Wen and Mr. Neal from ROC, with members Celia Wang, Kelly Yin, and Leo Chen. Ms. Kelly, the CEO of PA, also accompanied the team. As part of the preparation, Kelly Yin also obtained her NAR Level 1 certification in April. Unfortunately, since it was their first time participating in a major competition, the team did not win any prizes. However, we are confident that this failure has provided us with valuable experience—failure is the mother of success! 

During the summer of 2024, the club became a certified member unit of the NAR (National Association of Rocketry), with the membership number #975. Additionally, a new member who joined the club in May, Lucas Fan, successfully obtained his NAR Level 1 certification, qualifying him as a high-power rocket operator. As of now, three-quarters of the club members have earned Level 1 certification. Moreover, through persistent effort, Mickey Wen achieved NAR Level 2 certification, marking a significant milestone for our club. Unfortunately, due to graduation, five members—Frank Yin, Tony Guo, Tian Tan, Emma Zhou, and Jacques Zhu—have left the club. Among them, Frank Yin, Tony Guo, and Tian Tan were all second-generation founding members of the club. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you!

In the above process, Mickey led and completed the certification and application work of the club. Finally, after Mickey submitted the application materials carefully organized, the club was quickly certified with the number 975.
